The Buddha Sakyamuni statue

Készült: 2015. 06. 01.

In our Budapest center we created our new wing, the design we made with continuous advice from Lama Ole.

The central heart of the center is the newly created meditation room (gompa), the altar will hold three buddhaforms : Buddha Shakyamuni in the middle, to the left of his Diamond Mind, and to the right Loving Eyes. In addition, we will have 4 images over the altar: on the one side the 16th Karmapa and Marpa, on the other side the 17th Karmapa and Lama Ole, so we have the lineage holders and our root lama, as well as Marpa representing the secular style of Lama Ole. These shall help us on the way of identification.

This Buddha Shakyamuni statue is the first to be made in Europe in the history of our Diamond Way centers, it is a German-Swiss cooperation. Designed with a 3D computer program, it took into account Lama Ole's instructions, especially regarding the statue's face. The goal was to create a traditional statue which can connect to the European mind as easily as possible.

The central buddha is 170 cm tall, with meticulous detail worked out, truly a masterpiece.

It is the jewel of the altar, the result of a lot of good wishes, and a source of inspiration.

With this modern technology 6 Buddha Sakyamuni statues were made. The first three of the six brothers have already come to the Europe Center, to Hamburg, and to London. The other members will be in Budapest, Moscow, and Amden, thereby strengthening Diamond Way Buddhism in the West and the relationships between these meditation centres established by Lama Ole.

The fourth big Buddha statue arrives in Budapest at the end of June, and after the traditional filling process it will be on the central place on the altar. Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche is in charge of the filling process. It is performed by an international team under the guidance of Lama Ole, their work will be assisted by an experienced technical team.

This statue, and the importance of the event, cannot be overestimated, and support in any way is immensely useful. Therefore we invite everyone to join us and be part of this event.

How to help

To be able to make this statue possible, a large sum is required for the purchase. This is possible due to wide collaboration, generous individual donations and the sharing of the results of our activities.

It is still possible to support the delivery, as well as the missing amount required for this statue. If you want to support the statue, you can do it directly in the meditation centers, or you can choose the form of a simple bank transfer.
